Paris A-Z: D is for Drinks

Paris A to Z: D is for Drinks

The Sassy Guide to the City of Light

As an American living in Paris for nearly 9 years, I have plenty of words of wisdom to share about this glorious, yet sometimes frustrating, city. Each weekday this month I will share my thoughts on some of the best stuff to do in Paris. Today's letter, D, is for Drinks.

Drinking is one of my favorite things to do in Paris. Start your morning with a nice café crême (it's like the café au lait Americans think they should order, but is what Parisians actually order). Then with lunch it's acceptable to have a glass or two of wine. In the afternoon, make a pit stop at another café and perk up with an espresso. Or head to Angelina's for some world famous hot chocolate (which will also perk you up, sending you on a speedy sugar rush around town). With dinner, more wine is in order. After dinner you can enjoy a digestif or head to a bar or pub for the evening.

I bet you thought this post would be just about alcohol, huh? See how I threw in some coffee to try to look normal? If you want the real scoop on partying in Paris, check out my book, Confessions of a Paris Party Girl.
