However, I just had to do a review of Talli Roland's new release, The No-Kids Club, because I'm a huge fan of hers and I really enjoyed her latest book. And now I just have to share with you my newest book recommendation, Ma vie, mon ex et autres calamités, by Marie Vareille.
I'm assuming at least a certain percentage of the people who read my blog read French, otherwise, as they say, I'm making an ASS out of U and ME. Anyway, Marie's lovely book is written in the lovely French language so if you don't read French, you're out of luck. But if you even know a little French, I recommend checking it out. I learned all sorts of new words and phrases (even everyday verbs like "sighing" and "tilting", which was odd I didn't already know those since I tilt my head in confusion at every visa renewal appointment and then sigh in frustration about whatever BS they're telling me.)
Ma via, mon ex, et autres calamités takes you on a journey with Juliette - freshly dumped and fired - to the Maldives where she hopes to get back with her ex but you're hoping she realizes he's scum and will move on, maybe with the sexy but infuriating man she meets on vacation. It has everything I look for in chick lit: fun and funny, relatable characters, easy to read and well-written. You really want to see what happens with Juliette, complete with some "No, don't do that!" moments along the way.

Disclosure: Marie is a former colleague, personal friend, and editor of both of my books. I am recommending her book because it's 100% awesome, not because she's my friend. I'm keepin' it real, y'all.
