The Sassy Guide to the City of Light
As an American living in Paris for nearly 9 years, I have plenty of words of wisdom to share about this glorious, yet sometimes frustrating, city. Each weekday this month I will share my thoughts on some of the best stuff to do in Paris. Today's letter, A, is for Pont Alexandre III.
Numerous bridges cross the Seine, but Pont Alexandre III is my favorite. Ornate gold-plated statues, wide walkways, and sweeping views of the surrounding sites: Le Grand Palais, Le Petit Palais, Les Invalides.
A nightclub pulses underneath the bridge. I've only been there once; too douchey for my taste, as I much prefer to enjoy fresh air for free than the sweaty dance party stench that comes with clubbing. But to each his own.
If you stroll across this bridge, be sure to stop midway and have someone take your picture as you lean against the edge. Then when you see the same shot in a perfume commercial you can be like "I have that same photo, and I look just as good!" Because you will - you were in Paris after all, having the time of your life.
